Ab workouts for a six pack
|
Exercise 1:
Lie flat on your back on a mat with your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor. Place right hand over your
right ear and crunch your midsection up and across, trying to touch your right elbow to your left knee. Concentrate
on contracting your midsection throughout the movement. Slowly return to the starting position and repeat.
Exercise 2:
Lie on a mat on your back with your hands at your sides and your knees bent with your feet raised two inches
off the floor. Bring your pelvis up and your knees up toward your chest, contracting your abs and hold for two
seconds. Return to the start position and repeat.

Exercise 3:
Using a decline bench, position yourself with your feet locked in at the top. Place your hands on either side of your
head, without locking your fingers. Raise your body slowly while you contract your abs. Crunch up, bringing your
elbows to either side of your thighs. At the top of the movement, flex your abs for a one-count and then slowly lower
your body back to the starting position. Be sure to keep at least an inch or two of space between your back and the
bench at the bottom of the movement. You could hold a weight plate across your chest for added resistance.

Crunches:
Crunches may be the cornerstone of six pack abs exercises, but doing them to death won't get you a six pack. The
exercises in this workout hit your abs in new and challenging ways. You use other muscles and do the exercises
back-to-back in pairs, which means you'll burn extra calories, strip off fat and reveal the muscles underneath.
Do this workout three times a week, leaving at least one rest day between sessions. Perform the first two exercises as a
pair (known as a superset) without rest and then stop for one minute. Repeat this superset twice more, then do the
